I also spoke to an HP support Tech for the Spectre x360 and was told to contact Microsoft to have the Intel High Definition Audio driver for Windows 8.1 created. The phone number provided was incorrect. Aug 12, 2017 hi, I have a NUC7i3BNH, running win10 x64. I have used the Intel Driver Update Utility to update the drivers. I have entry in the device manager Intel High Definition DSP that is missing a driver.
Before uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers I would suggest you to check if the output devices are enabled or not. You may follow the below steps and check if the default device is set properly for sound output –
1. Click Start type Sound in the Start Search box.
2. Click Sound in the search results at the top of the Start menu.
3. Click the Playback tab. Notice the check mark next to the default device. For most
users, the default device is Speakers.
If you have a messsage stating No audio devices are installed I would suggest you to right click in the same window and click on show disabled devices. Then speakers option will get displayed. You may right click and click on enable to enable the speakers.
This download provides the Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for the 3.5mm audio jack on Intel® NUC Kit. This audio driver is required if you plan to connect a microphone or headset to the audio jack.
4. Select the sound device (that is speakers) that you want as the default sound device, and then click Set default.
5. Click the Properties button, then select the Levels tab, and make sure that the volume
is at 100 and not muted.
6. Click OK to save your settings and to close the Sound dialog box.
